Aurora has made a stunning new update to the classic 88 with a matte “satin” finish to the black resin cap and barrel that’s contrasted with rose gold plated trim and nib. The satin finish extends down to the grip section providing a wonderful tactile experience and offers a secure grip.
The 14k solid rose gold nib perfectly matches the rest of the trim and comes in eight sizes: EF, F, Fine Flex, M, B, BB, Factory Stub, and Factory Italic. Each nib is an excellent candidate for customization, whether it’s a simple Tune & Smooth to make sure it writes exactly the way you want, or select a stub or architect grind for a little added flair to your writing, all included free of charge with your purchase.
The 88 features Aurora’s unique piston filler design with a built-in ink reserve. When the pen runs dry, extend the piston to access enough ink for several more pages of writing. The piston knob will remain extended acting as a reminder to refill the pen while still allowing the cap to be posted.

What an amazing pen! I got a stub, but Daniel tuned it to be forgiving of minor rotation, silky smooth and beautifully wet. The pen itself is stunning and the rose gold isn’t garish. The special Aurora piston seal with an ink reserve is a great feature, but it does make cleaning out the pen a bit of an ordeal. Overall, I am extremely happy with the pen and the tune.

I have owned Aurora 88s in the past – they are absolutely beautiful pens however I didn’t like the degree of feedback (which is a matter of personal taste rather than a defect of the pen). I requested smoothing and tuning and Daniel has done a great job. The pen now has just a modest amount of feedback which I really like and it writes very smoothly with good ink flow (and not too wet). I have the fine nib which is a true fine. The satin finish is subtle and the pen is delightful to hold. It is very light and posts very well with excellent balance. The ink capacity is capacious and the piston filler is flawless with the useful ink reservoir. The rose gold finish is very attractive against the satin black. On top of the excellent nib work the transaction has been perfect with great communication and fast dispatch and delivery to me here in Australia. I strongly recommend this classic pen and would have no hesitation in buying from Daniel again.
