The Kaweco SPECIAL fountain pen’s most important characteristic is its plain and simple octagonal design. It is long and thin and, initially, the SPECIAL was made out of ebonite, then turned celluloid. In its modern incarnation, the SPECIAL is made from polished brass or black anodized aluminum.
The Kaweco SPECIAL series has proven to be a long-lasting working tool at a reasonable price.
Comes standard with a polished stainless-steel nib, manufactured by Bock of Heidelberg. Available in extra fine, fine, medium, broad, and extra-broad widths. Optional nibs are listed below and can easily be swapped out.
Uses short or long international cartridges. Optional converters available below.

The Kaweco special fountain pen is a wonderful fountain pen. I was looking for a small pen of high quality, and was not let down by the decent Kaweco. It lies sturdy in my hand and does not feel at all cheap. The cap has a nice rubber seal to avoid the nib from drying out. Everything neccessary is found on this pen, but it is in no way shape or form disturbing or unappealing.
The nibwork customization requested is also excellent; the writing experience is smooth. A pen I would recommend, and gladly buy again.
