This custom ebonite feed is the perfect upgrade from the stock plastic feed to increase ink flow and get the most from the FA Falcon nib. This feed is compatible with all 912 nibs except the Music nib.

The Pilot 912 / 742 FA Replacement feed is used to improve performance of the size 10 FA nib when flex writing. The stock feed does not provide sufficient ink for calligraphy styles such as copperplate, as Japanese writing does not flex the nib as dramatically as does a style like copperplate.

This black ebonite feed has a 3 slit ink slot for use with dry inks or for those who prefer exceptionally wet nibs. Manufactured in the USA by Flexible Nib Factory LLC from black ebonite from Nikko (Japan).

NOTICE
The Pilot 912 FA nib is made from a very soft gold alloy. This nib performs very well, comparable to a vintage flex nib, but it is not as durable or robust as a vintage flex nib. Use caution when flexing the 912 FA nib, or you will deform it!

The installation of this feed voids the Pilot factory warranty.

The 912 / 742 replacement feed is available in four versions:

  • 912E – This black ebonite feed has a 3 slit ink slot, and is meant for use with dry inks, or for users who prefer a wet nib.
  • 912EN – This black ebonite feed has a 2 slit ink slot, for use with normal inks.
  • 912ER – This red ebonite feed has a 3 slit ink slot, for use with dry inks, or for those users who prefer a wet nib.
  • 912ENR – This red ebonite feed has a 2 slit ink slot, for use with normal inks.
