The Italian artisans at Aurora have created a design that represents the important historical aspects of Europe through the centuries. The silver clip is etched with a map of the continent; the thick silver band crafted in high relief depicts symbols of Europes progress from factories to trains a DNA double helix to the stars of the European Community. The hand-turned resin barrel features swirling patterns in luminous black pearl and grey tones known as Fumo di Londra . The black resin crown is set with a blue synthetic quartz cabochon a tribute to the colors of the European Union.

The Europa fountain pen is fitted with a rhodium-plated, solid 18K gold nib in a wide variety of widths. Its piston filler system features a hidden ink reservoir and transparent window.
