I have a couple of other #3776s though this is the first with Dan’s work to give me a stub version of the broad nib. The Black Diamond is quite beautiful with a subtle degree of translucency. The rhodium finish gives it a real elegance. The pen is very pleasant in the hand – there is a slight step down from the barrel to the section which is not a big issue for me – my thumb sits over the threads and it not uncomfortable. I write with the pen posted (and the pen posts very well) – I have small hands and suspect people with larger hands may find it a little small unposted. The finish of the pen is flawless and my experience with Platinum pens is consistent smooth flow with no skipping. Dan’s stub modification maintains the smoothness of the Platinum nib with subtle line variation which makes for a perfect writing experience. I have a #3776 in Chartres Blue which I will be sending to Dan for the same nib modification. Please note that the pen came with the excellent Platinum converter and an ink cartridge. The ordering, delivery and communication were top class! From a happy repeat customer!
