The Kaweco DIA originated in 1921. The DIA was offered in many different writing modes and made of black ebonite as well as high-grade colored celluloid.
The decorative elements and proportions are the same as in the golden twenties. This treasure from the heydays of German art, culture and science was able to be preserved in its entirety until today.
The Kaweco DIA2 amber set is limited to 1,000 pieces. Each writing instrument is unique with an engraved number. The fountain pen and the ballpoint pen always have the same number in each set.
Comes standard with a gold-plated steel nib, manufactured by Bock of Heidelberg. Available in extra fine, fine, medium, broad, and extra-broad widths. Optional nibs are listed below and can easily be swapped out.
Uses short or long international cartridges. Optional converters available below.
Supplied in a Kaweco gift tin.

When months ago I received my first pen from Dan the Nibsmith and wrote with it, I immediately wanted to get another one from him. I finally received my second Kaweco Dia2, and it’s again amazing. I have two more pens already bought coming to me from Dan. He is a rare breed of craftsman (one could easily say an artist) and you can trust him to tune or smoothe or grind a pen you won’t want to stop writing with. Nibsmith.com is the very first and only place I go to when I’m thinking of getting a new pen. If you love writing with fountain pens, so should you.
