- KN - Kodachi Needlepoint: A true needlepoint tip for ultra precise writing. Creates a line of uniform thickness in all directions.
- KF - Kodachi Fine: Shaped like the tip of a sword. Essentially the same as the Naginata Togi created by Nagahara Nobuyoshi (father to Yukio Nagahara; a.k.a. Nagahara Senior). This nib creates a thin vertical stroke and a thick horizontal stroke. The thickness of each stroke changes depending on the angle the pen is held.

LIMITED EDITION Maki-e Ivy and Komon Maki-e is a very complex Japanese lacquer painting technique, renowned for its beauty and artistry. In the process, the rare Japanese lacquer Urushi is applied to the fountain pen in a multitude of layers which are polished repeatedly. The design is drawn with colored lacquer onto the surface. This technique is called Togidashi-Maki-e. In addition, the artist can mix charcoal powder and gold powder into the lacquer, so that the pattern of the design is raised above the surface: If your thumb glides over the painting, you will feel the difference. This is the so-called Taka-Maki-e technique. For the Pelikan fountain pen model âIvy and Komonâ, the Maki-e artist has harmoniously blended both techniques. The limited edition âIvy and Komonâ shows the climber plant Ivy combined with Komon that is a very beautiful and traditional pattern. The evergreen Ivy is often written about in poems because of its glossy, beautiful autumn leaves, and was often used as decoration, covering the exterior walls of buildings. The so-called Komon is one of the traditional Japanese kimono patterns in which the same pattern is dyed repeatedly in the same direction. Visconti is thrilled to announce the launch of their latest unique limited edition in the famous Homo Sapiens collection. The Homo Sapiens Carbon Moiré is the result of years of complex experimentation, aimed at creating a collection that combines cutting edge technique with an inimitable aesthetic. The pen features the implementation of forged carbon: a composite material of recent conception, made by combining carbon fiber fragments and resin. The forged carbon has layers of gold leaf inlay woven through the material, complemented by titanium trim. This characteristic gives the barrel an organic appearance, with the fibers taking on an irregular and dynamic pattern. The golden hue creates unique reflections, the material appears three-dimensional, almost holographic, much like the refined moiré fabrics that lend the pen its name. This incredible new offering is limited to 226 pieces, in tribute to the atomic numbers of the key chemical elements that give the pen its extraordinary lightness: Titanium (22) and Carbon (6). The fountain pen version of the Homo Sapiens Carbon Moiré is equipped with our iconic Power Filler Double Reservoir system. The central ring features a section in clear acrylic resin, allowing the ink level to be seen even when the pen is closed. The cap is equipped with an improved magnetic closure system, ensuring an even more secure and solid seal. Completing the fountain pen is our 18kt yellow gold Visconti nib. To protect the metal components, a very thin layer of transparent nano-ceramic coating is applied, which stabilizes the color over time and preserves the titanium from potential micro-scratches.
