This is a spectacular pen. The resin has a metallic shine and the blue looks great with the rhodium trim. If you enjoy Sailor pens, this is a must have. I received an EF that the nibsmith tuned and it writes like a dream. The only downside is the sailor cartridge converter – Sailor needs to up their game on that one part. Zero regrets with this wonderful pen from a fantastic nib smith!

I have two other 1911s: A Black/Rhodium Realo with a MF nib, a Red/Gold Large with M nib. Love the size, weight and feel of these. The Stormy Sea is a real departure for me, and I am thrilled with it. It is an interesting color, faintly metallic and at once bright blue, and at another moment a bit mysterious and darker, as though teal has crept in, but not quite.
Dan took a B nib and created a smooth-as-butter writer with the wetness that I had requested. He made this beautiful pen perfect for me.
Now if Sailor would only allow us to buy additional nibs, I would have him put a Cursive Italic in my Realo!
