A special limited edition, “Shape of a Heart” will be released from the #3776 CENTURY series with “Slip & Seal Mechanism” that prevents ink from drying out. The limited model will be available in 2,000 pens.

Two heart-shaped pieces, which are punched out to make the breather hole on the pen nib, are placed together with crystals in the dome at the top of the pen. While the heart pieces are usually melted down and reused, the new “Shape of a Heart” model incorporates them in the design. The pair of heart-shaped pieces enclosed in the dome gives a feeling of connection with your partner, making it an ideal gift for someone precious.

The first commemorative model features two gold hearts-shaped pieces while the black body applied with pink-gold finished nib, clip and trim represents a design unique to the limited model. The crystals in the dome at the top add a special taste to the pen.

SLIP & SEAL MECHANISM

It has normally been thought difficult to make an airtight pen with a screw-type cap. If not sealed tightly, the following problems can result:

Ink drying out due to moisture evaporation.
Problems with dried ink if the pen is not used for three to six months.
It can be necessary to clean the pen using the Platinum Ink Cleaner Kit or even to repair or replace the nib itself if the damage due to dried ink is too severe.

At the request of customers, Platinum Pen Company have gone back to the basics to deal with this problem. This is the first fountain pen which has their unique “Slip & Seal” structure in a pen with a screw-type cap. Thanks to this innovation, currently being patented, it is possible to have a screw-type cap with complete airtightness.

The innovative cap contains a unique “Slip & Seal” mechanism that prevents ink from drying out in the pen. Meanwhile, a newly redesigned nib and feed regulate the ink flow.
